David Roberts views of the Holy Land are perhaps the most famous to be found anywhere. Teddy Kollek, Jerusalem's most famous modern mayor remarked,
And so too with Roberts' depictions of the Galilee and elsewhere. We are pleased to offer some of those here also. In 1838-1839, the Scottish artist visited the Holy Land. The first addition of his prints appeared in 1842 in London. This series of finely tinted lithographic plates comes from the renowned publishers Cassell, Petter, Galpin, circa 1870. Extraordinary.
