The PaperMatch Menagerie

Welcome to the Menagerie, PaperMatch's site for animal lovers everywhere.

Did you know that Beatrix Potter was a natural history illustrator before she brought us Peter Rabbit and Mrs. Tiggy Wingkle? An art historian might think of this as showing two parts to Ms. Potter. At PaperMatch we think it shows just one.

In these pages you'll see traditional hand colored animal prints and materials from some of the great childrens' chromolithographers also. Stuff that any adult can enjoy.

	Selections of hand colored mammals and birds from the Museum of Natural History of the mid 19^th century.
Aesop's Corner. The Owl and the Grasshopper, and the stories that are retold century after century. We concentrate on the 17^th through 19^th centuries.
	Cock Robin, Cock Sparrow. Some wonderful 19^th century birds, in finest linen or chromo.
